Love that they decided to do a graphic in the Times for the ‘injecting penis with acid’ Winter Olympics story

The huge effort this innocent man had to put in just to prove he was fine to shop in his local Sainsbury’s shows how much more regulation is needed on the use of facial recognition

This is one of those adverts where it’s clearly gone through too many layers of approval and has now lost all meaning

Gosh, Andrew Bailey appeared to get emotional at interest rate press conference when talking about Alistair Darling and Mandelson's betrayal of the late chancellor

*Looks at the news to see what Trump’s saying at Davos*… Good stuff

Not sure if this headline quite works in the sun 🥴

Shocked that a ski resort being built in the… *checks notes*… desert is taking longer than initially thought to complete

You certainly can't claim that HMRC don't know how to have a good time

‘Democrats have deep objections’ - yeah, along with much of the western world! Feel the way the media is framing this as if it’s a simple dems vs republicans debate is insane

Possibly the most British quote ever from one of the Quaker elders about police charging their meeting house to arrest activists

Smash things up and then blame others when any blowback arrives very much seems to be Musk's way these days

Just absolutely no way this is cleaner or more user friendly as an interface - looks so horribly messy now

This guy also got a set of very angry and frustrated questions from his constituents

The clips coming out of town halls in republican states of very angry voters are fascinating in how the politicians looked shocked - does make you wonder if the GOP will begin to reverse course (at least a little bit)

Completely shocked to hear that getting a bunch of postgrad students to take over federal buildings, fire all the experts, and aimlessly go through thousands of government contracts trying cut spending does not lead to great savings...

I know saying they’re hypocrites is old hat now but the absolute gall to say this when you’re banning journalists from the White House if they don’t say Gulf of America and even removing the word ‘biodiversity’ from scientific papers is unbelievable
February 15, 2025 at 11:33 AM
This is obviously a very serious issue, but also a hilarious push notification in its understatement
February 15, 2025 at 12:26 AM
Terrifying - apparently calling it the Gulf of Mexico is now a straight up lie according to the White House

Oh the irony is too good

One of the best pieces I’ve read on Musk’s astonishing and terrifying takeover of much of the US government

It’s so infuriating! Always looks like a badly designed student paper. Although was amazed to see the Netflix show Black Doves did it perfectly- so much so that I wonder if they did a deal with The Times or something?

Glad that MPs are starting to kick up a fuss about how utterly useless HMRC’s phone line is. More importantly though, they should look into how poor its online services are - most people are on the phone because it’s often impossible to find an answer to their problems on HMRC’s website

As more stories about Hegseth’s bad drunken behaviour emerge, this quote from Sen Richard Blumenthal in the New Yorker last month still really holds up
