Yeah and if they cant replace Nvidia then some other chinese company will. AI is considered a strategic resource so China will not accept a dependency on the US in the long run.

It feels like a lifetime ago the Trump admin was openly contemplating annexing Greenland by force, and attempting to annex Canada by economic blackmail. To say that the US might become an adversary is putting it mildly.

I don't think he has a tiered set of NATO countries he's willing to defend or not. The only state that he might actually defend is the US. There's also a good chance the next president will also be an isolationist, and at that point europe has truly run out of excuses for its inaction.

The response back then was a mixture of sticking one's head in the sand, "take him serious but not literally"-cope, hoping that there would be responsible adults in the admin who would steer policy and the belief that this was just a bargaining tool to force NATO members to increase spending.

The logic behind this is that by cutting off the supply to China they will be incentivized to start domestic production of advanced chips. This way there's a balancing act where the US has some leverage. It's most likely a lost cause, but I guess this way Trump gets some kickbacks in the short run.

The ultimate desert island film.

Both Norway and Sweden had structures set up during the cold war to facilitate a speedy nuclear program should the need arise. The largest obstacle is the lack of political will as we cling to the idea that the US is still extending their deterrence, and the hope that the russians believes it.

Let's start with the Nordics, Baltics and Poland first.

The strategic ambiguity of the US is rapidly vanishing. Trump already gave away his position on this during an interview with Tucker Carlson in 2018 regarding a hypothetical scenario with Montenegro. There needs to be a serious discussion about developing our own nuclear deterrence.

Flawless logic from the top brass there.

December 3, 2025 at 7:10 AM

You know the holidays are upon when you are forced to sit silently around a table and listen to an octogenarian casually say something incredibly racist. 🎄

They wanted reinvent Bond, and they did so by borrowing the gritty style of the Jason Bourne movies.
