It was a Sedge Warbler in the dawn chorus. And did you see the incredible hunter's moon last night? Huge! Had to go out for a late walk to take it in. Almost extended the daylight by a few extra hours!

I seem to have a teenage daughter. Happy birthday, Nancy! It's a strange thing, because I'm not sure I've really matured mentally much past 13 myself 😂 Breakfast is alive and well on BBCRadio3 and we started with a dawn chorus of Great Shearwaters. Have a great day!

... and in the blink of an eye, 8 weeks has whizzed by & we're almost up to the Last Night of the Proms. Breakfast on BBCRadio3 started with a Common Rosefinch in the Dawn Chorus & we'll be looking ahead to the Proms finale tomorrow night... which features some superstar guests!

Happy birthday Arvo Pärt - 90 today! Unbelievably popular and yet never drawn towards trends or anything vaguely commercial. Pretty astonishing really, and you can enjoy some of his greatest music in Thursday's Breakfast on BBCRadio3 🎂

Came across Y Felinheli at the weekend, a beautiful place on the Menai Strait with Anglesey just over the channel. Breakfast on BBCRadio3 started with a Blackcap in the dawn chorus, and Bach Before 7 is from an album of organ and guitar that's back by popular demand!
