My failure as a pastor is evident in the fact that instead of grace, love and forgiveness, my congregation has abandoned me. When I need it the most, I’m left to flounder on my own. I feel like I have wasted 20 years. And worse, I can’t feel the presence of God.

I accomplished two major things this year. I was ordained an elder in the Global Methodist Church and I effectively killed my career 6months later and I am not ok.

Just cruising above the Central Florida farmland.

For the first time in 65 years, I am alone on Thanksgiving. After I get off work at noon, I’m gonna have a traditional grilled hamburger.

I am no longer a pastor. Still ordained, still a Reverend. Sabbatical time. Much needed sabbatical time.

For over 20 years I have preached love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness. Now that I need it, there’s none to be found.
