Writer, poet, lyricist, and lifelong political activist. Granddaddio to three exceptional children. True believer in music as the curative for man’s continuing wanderings through the desert.
You always return to the best spot in town Maggie! You are an erudite as well as lucky person! Have a great holiday season.

“Without prejudice” leads me to believe it will just continue on and on and on. Unless, there is a tolling on the statute of limitations.

Continued excellence Lee, never falter in your efforts.

As always, I appreciate your thoughtfulness Mr. Simon.

They must be stale.

A shuckster who doesn’t understand the concept of shucking.

I believe we are misled by the current crop of network leads who are captured by, as you write, the allure of proximity of the new, hollow gilded age. Some are immune to the overarching rapture of those they are suppose to hold to strict standards, but many more lack the basic integrity required.

My hatred for Norah O’Donnell was ignited during her interview of Kamala Harris prior to the beginning of the 2020 primary season. She was dismissive and condescending of Harris’s efforts and especially rude, not allowing Harris to answer questions. She’s an underwhelming intellectual lightweight.

How does anyone fucking “enjoy” watching A House of Dynamite? You come to realize outcomes in the first ten minutes of the film, even if you’re mildly comatose. We are fast becoming a nation of intellectual zombies.

Good job LaShawnda—you beat me too it!

I’ve had the great fortune of following you for some time. I deeply appreciate your passionate, spot-on perspective and though we disagree on Heat, will continue to be a devotee of your literate offerings.

Understand, but beg to differ.

I’m bothered as well, Bailey. And whether permits were pulled properly or not, what happened this week fits within the despicable narrative of an American government absent any control, either within its own boundaries, by its counterparts in Congress or the courts, or most disturbingly, the People.

Heat is still one of the two best movies of the last 30 years.
October 26, 2025 at 3:12 AM
I understand they didn’t pull permits until after the destruction was completed.

What a huge disappointment Jeffries has turned out to be. Full of righteous indignation but starkly reminiscent of an empty suit or a broken clock he is. We’ve been told the Democratic Party has a bench load of leaders, but beyond Pete, Pritzker, Newsom, AOC, Merkley, and Chris Murphy, who are they?
October 24, 2025 at 7:43 PM
This is excruciatingly unbelievable. This is the true white american view of not the 1830s but of 2025. The soul of our country cannot survive this onslaught against basic human rights. We must fight against this or we are lost.

That is such a beautifully composed shot Maggie!
October 24, 2025 at 6:37 PM
Perhaps analy unpleasant for starters.

Thanks Maggie—a great awakening sound to hear as a slight chill arrives. A voice for the ages.
