I mean sure shovel out the hydrants but the odds that there's a fire on this corner today are extremely low. Meanwhile I've seen a handful of people bust their ass on the ice, and dozens more walk in the street due to the curb ramps being blocked by snow.

Sidewalks on streets with no esplanades really get shafted. Guarantee at least a few owners will deem it too big of a hassle to clear their sidewalk again and thus the whole block will be inaccessible (unless one walks in the street)
