4. Effortless Jibanyan clone with almost no difference in writing

Let’s take a look at Jibanyan’s backstory. He was a cat owned by a teenage girl, until one day, he was hit by a truck. Sad, isn’t it?

He effectively erases any sort of uniqueness they had and turns them into these empty shells of an american nationalist (despite the fact what he turns them into has little to no resemblance to an actual american's personality).

In other words, he basically whitewashes them.

3. Quite literally whitewashes people

Tomnyan’s inspirit revolves entirely around turning people into the aforementioned horribly innacurate american stereotypes, changing their hair/eye color, personality, and opinions.

tl;dr: tomnyan is basically "America Fuck Yeah" the yo kai and nothing else except he completely fails to portray the average american correctly/in a way that isn't entirely obnoxious

the only thing these stereotypes manage to get half-right is the accent but even then it's so comically over-exaggerated it's basically an entirely different thing at this point

What makes this even worse is, most americans don't even ACT like this. Tomnyan's "personality", if you can even call it that, is derived entirely from a horde of horrendously exaggerated southener stereotypes, most of, if not all of which are atleast 95% innacurate.

One, his horrible guitar skills and obsession with country music. Two, his overuse of words like "dude". Three, bragging about how American food is the best in the world and then proceeding to add American stuff to the Japanese food Nate eventually cooks to shut him up.

2. Lack of actual personality
Tomnyan lacks any actual personality. His entire character revolves solely around being every American stereotype you can think of shoved into a Jibanyan costume painted yellow.

there's also a few details here and there but those are so minor to a point where they don't even matter (freckles, different bell shape)

When Level 5 redid Tomnyan’s design, however, they removed most of these details, leaving him with only a distinct fur color and limiting the colors of his overalls and shirt to his haramaki.

Not to mention how big of a downgrade his design is when compared to his beta design, Bobnyan. His original design featured overalls, a hat, and a few other touches that made him feel more unique.

Baddinyan has a jacket, sunglasses, and greased hair, Shogunyan has armor and a sword, and even Sailornyan has something going for her.

Tomnyan’s design is simply Jibanyan with stereotypical American blonde hair, a palette-swapped hiramaki, and a few minor details. (most) Other nyans tend to stand out more than Tomnyan does.
