Alright, I'm trying to make more of an effort to use Bluesky these days because Twitter's just become a cesspool. So here's my "Media I've Consumed in 2025" thread. Enjoy seeing what movies, shows, anime, games, manga, books, etc I partake in for the coming year!

You're not OLD™
Your body is not gonna start breaking down.
You are capable of so much.
I have been more physically and socially active in the last three years than I think I was in almost my entire 20s.

Those who are 35+, what advice do you have for people just entering their 30s?

If you think a game about going after the KKK would be controversial due to the current political climate, it's a good sign you should make a game about going after the KKK.

SCOOP: Last year, Ubisoft cancelled an Assassin's Creed game set during Reconstruction. Was to feature a Black Assassin who, among other things, fought the rise of the Klan

Sources: Leadership nixed it over concerns re: U.S. political climate, backlash to Yasuke

I watched SIGNAL 100 (2019). A sadistic teacher places his class under a hypnosis spell in which 100 different "signals" will cause them to commit suicide with spell being broken when one is left alive. Basically a poor man's Battle Royale but it was entertaining enough.

I watched BLACK RAT (2010). A bunch of students are sent a mysterious text message from a friend of theirs who died asking to meet them at their school at midnight. They're then stalked by an adorable killer wearing a rat mask. Entertaining enough. Karaoke kill was the best.

I remember being very impressed with an episode of Pop Team Epic that parodied a retro 4:3 anime and they went all out with the subtitles making them into the classic "big bold yellow" text you'd see on fansub VHS tapes back in the day. I don't think they'd do that now.

You don't really notice just HOW bad things have gotten until you start laying them all out like that. The poor handling of the Funi merger, the loss of forums and comments, botching Kickstarters, the loss of RightStuf, and now their subs going to shit, their one saving grace? Things better pick up.

Holy shit, things are getting really bad at Crunchyroll. For all their faults, their sub format was great. But this shit? No thanks. Between the poor handling of the Funi merger, the loss of RightStuf, and now this? Things are fucked.

I watched I'LL ALWAYS KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER (2006), a direct to video sequel and wow it shows. The editing was a fever dream and it doesn't even have Jennifer Love Hewitt's charms to fall back on. This also checked off another bottom 250 Letterboxd movie for me to watch.

“I voted for none of this."

Prominent influencers, including Theo Von, Joe Rogan, and Andrew Schulz, are starting to distance themselves from the president they helped propel to the White House.

One of my favorite bits I still think about and laugh at from your old Best Friends LP is pointing out how a good 25% of the map is taken up by "MY HOUSE".

I watched I STILL KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER (1998). Nothing particularly I have to say about this one. A very generic slasher sequel and it's got some real goofy plot twists. I also love how a big part of it is banking on you not knowing the capitol of Brazil.

I watched FINAL DRAFT (2025) on Netflix. I'm not normally into reality TV and especially not into sports, but something about this hooked me. Retired athletes compete in challenges for a cash prize. All the competitors were so wholesome and charismatic, I wanted them all to win.

I watched 28 YEARS LATER (2025) with @moldyclay.bsky.social. I can safely say that it had far more zombie cock and Teletubbies reference than I was I expecting. It was also quite different from the previous two movies and lot more colorful. I think I may have liked it more than the others?

They'd also get angry over Heather's initial reaction to Douglas. "When Heather first meets Douglas, she's IMMEDIATELY hostile towards him... even though he hasn't done anything! She even threatens to scream for help if he continues to follow her because Man Bad."

Just realized I'm going to be likely tempted by Silent Hill f stuff at the artist alley of the next con I go to. I can already picture the adorable acrylic stands and keychains of Hinako or the Ayakakashi.

I watched V/H/S HALLOWEEN (2025). Yeah, it was a V/H/S movie, alright. Some segments were stronger than others but only a couple of them really stood out that strongly for me personally. The last segment was definitely the best. This one really went "fuck them kids."
