I don’t either! I wanted so hard to root for Devers. It always, long before this season, felt like he didn’t want to be a face of a team. I do think front office started the debacle this offseason by not coming to him before camp, but at some point, he needed to move on.

Letting Mookie go was a crime. Xander’s time in SD has been average at best. Time will tell on Devers, but that relationship was broken. Front office holds a lot of blame for that, but Devers never acted like he wanted to be the face of the team. He made it hard to root for him.
