TRUMP: “why is it we only take people from shithole countries? Why can't we have some people from Norway, Sweden, Denmark. But we always take people from Somalia, places that are filthy, dirty, disgusting.”

Answer: Those countries have the highest happiness index. Why would they come here?

There was a time when "red-letter Christians" were a thing. Evangelicals these days seem to be, "anything but the red-letters".

Evangelical Christianity in the United States is often characterized by a deep desire to have “Christianity” pervade our culture but not have Christ permeate our being.

1Th 5:18, "give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

God's will for us is to be thankful. It is important to note that the verse says, "IN all circumstances" not "FOR all circumstances". Bad things will happen, but God is good. Always.

“Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” (2Th 2:11-12)
Child of God, walk in humility, gratitude, truth, and love.

“Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.” (2 Timothy 2:3-4)

Brothers and sisters, don't be distracted... stay on mission.

When parents show their kids it's okay to hate "certain people", don't be surprised when that hate goes in an unexpected direction. "Honor everyone." -1Pe 2:17

Loving an enemy is wanting better for them than they want for themselves, recognizing that your welfare is intertwined.

Jesus:"For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man."(Mat 24:37)

Days of Noah:"The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."(Gen 6:5)

Sounds like today

Be watchful! The sin of pride manifests itself as arrogance in a young man, but as a pursuit of relevance in an old man.

The older I get, the more I appreciate it when the Lord tells me, "no". His "no" protects me from hidden dangers, from things that would draw me away from Him, and causes me to pause and consider any unrepentant sin I might be engaged in. (Psalm 84:11-12)

A flat-pack $5 Temu grill + a handful of charcoal briquettes + couple of hot dogs (w/buns) + and folding chairs = impromptu lunch on the beach. A simple life. An abundant life.

A reminder for how we Christians are to live: “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” (James 1:27) NB: Dirt can be cleaned, but stains are permanent.

Fear is more powerful in controlling unbelievers in a fallen world than love. That is why the world, the flesh, and the enemy use it. (FOMO, politics of fear) But for we who believe, have power, love, & a sound mind. When we embrace all 3, enemies of the Cross have no hold on us.
