Happy #Navy250! Today I'm honoring the service of my late Father-in-law, Vietnam veteran James R. Williams, pictured here aboard the USS Willis A. Lee (DD-929) in 1966. Although he departed this summer, his service and that of many others lives on in the great Navy we have today.

Photo from my first day in office today in 2011 after 1 yr in Afghanistan. I had a major Capitol Hill fly-in with multiple energy clients during a convention & had to study talking points while awaiting travel in Kuwait. Straight from OEF to talk energy policy to Congress. Weird.

14 years ago today I came home after a year in #Afghanistan. Amazing welcome by my wife and daughter, and many supporters at BWI. I accidentally missed my connecting flight to Norfolk for outprocessing, so hitched a ride home to VA and drove myself in the am. #NavyReserve
