I focus on transportation – public transit like Metro, airports, bikes, roads – but I cover a bit of everything. Like most of us I’m new to Bluesky. I’ll post about news & my love of books too.

Metro leaders said today they do not plan to try to raise fares next year, however they will likely do so the following year.
They also said ridership is growing faster than expected, and that is helping their budget in the short term. #wmata

Major work is beginning for a “deckover“ project to create a new public plaza just north of Dupont Circle. Two service lanes for Connecticut Ave are closing to cars soon. The sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians, but barriers set up today shrunk sidewalk space significantly.

Anyone else noticed spotted lantern flies getting completely out of control within just the past few days? They were all over the place at a University of Maryland football game Saturday, and today I’m seeing them all over DC. I’ve seen them in the past, but never even close to this many!!!
