My piece is on the cover this week. Europeans are right to point out that J.D. Vance is a breathtaking hypocrite. But they should also look at their muddled speech laws, which are giving wide discretion to the police to restrict speech in harmful ways.

A good question. To which the answer seems to be: the rider and the driver. More cycling means more people learning to cycle safely. Not a reason for regulation that kills the (very large) benefits.
