Nobody who actually lives in Manchester thinks that. We're all furious with Starmer though.

Very bad for a Green is overstating it I think. The Levenshulme peninsula will almost certainly go Green now that Burnham has been clobbered. The Denton side is another story.

It won't be easy but it could hardly be better conditions for a Green win... plenty of people will be wanting to stick it to both Starmer and Farage

PS - The fact that the media was informed of the NEC decision before I was tells you everything you need to know about the way the Labour Party is being run these days.

You would think that over 30 years of service would count for something but sadly not. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It'll go Green now for sure. And that will be the end of the line for Starmer's leadership, hopefully.

And if Starmer had wheels he would be a bike...

Harder to predict if Starmer stitches it up to stop Burnham, but my money would be on the Greens coming out on top

It has some Greenish areas like Levenshulme, and other parts more Reform friendly. But Burnham will walk it if allowed to stand.

His book was absolutely brilliant though (and still online! www.withouthotair.com ). Out of date on the economics now but still a very accessible introduction to the physical challenges of the energy transition. It's a shame he isn't still around to bring it up to date
