It's one thing to say "There are viable alternatives no one's proposed that matter for 2028." It's quite another to describe concerns about handing Rs another seat as "hollow." If anything, this back and forth has reinforced that those concerns are legit and deserve more attn (and fairness from you)

I'm not misreading you, I'm asking a legit question. To your question, I don't know, but who's proposing that?! I haven't seen that anywhere, but maybe I've missed something?

Why are you so confident that a Supreme Court dominated by Hogan appointees wouldn't impose a standard that actually threatens one of the most favorably Dem-gerrymandered delegations in the country? You've admitted (rightly, I think) that the maps will be blocked. You think they'd stop there?!

Respectfully, your post just assumed the constitutional amdt is sufficient. I respect HB 488's authors and supporters enormously, but I'm also very nervous, and skeptical, that a proposed amendment for voters' consideration in November actually inoculates against the risks of an immediate challenge.

Hollow? Why hollow? The State Supreme Court is an extremely legit concern.

You’re actually doing it precisely backwards. Disappointment in the CFB is understandable and costs little, ultimately. NFL fandom is attached to the nerves.

His primary concern is that it could actually put more D districts at risk. And there’s precedent for his concern (MD’s initial 2020 maps prompted a court challenge and novel ruling). A Supreme Court dominated by Hogan appointees could make things much worse than the status quo.

This reminds me of an old Purdue game. 4-5+ yards in the air every attempt.

“He still needs polished.” Did you know this is an example of a regional dialect? I’ve always used linking verbs like “to be” in that kind of sentence. Recently I’ve noticed more Iowans using the past participle directly after verbs like “need,” Eg: “needs washed” instead of “‘needs to be washed.”

A tremendous read. Thank you for sharing.

This is the heartbreaker that I suspect very few fans will remember accurately enough to concede that it made perfect sense. None of Iowa’s guards were fast to begin with, and at least two were severely injured. Nightmare matchup. I don’t believe a guard scored a point that game.

O’Grady’s arm was reaching & no longer vertical. Not a hard foul, but definitely contact and a foul by rule. All she has to do is stay vertical and she’s almost surely rebounding a miss.
