Having raised babies in a liberal city, I need to pint out that that there is a Venn Diagram in which the circle of Hippie-Libetals overlaps with the circle of White Christian Republicans. It’s very weird but exists.

As the parent of four kids, equipping them to be independent AND making sure they know I will always be a soft place for them to fall without judgement has always been my goal. I always tell them, I want you to be happy however that is for you. And that means different things to each of them.

When I was a kid I read a book about this guy and I have been thinking about it a lot because my almost 13 y/o asked to read in Cold Blood last week and I said yes but my partner said she is too young. I must have read the Coe book when I was around her age. Weird.

I have three of four who have IEPs. We pay a non attorney special education advocate to help us. Even with her by my side I become extremely honest at times and she always tells me she is proud of me when I do.

My kids tell me no regularly. If I even think they are lying to protect my feelings by telling me yes, I investigate further and when they (it’s really just one of them) finally do say No, I thank them.

Statistically it’s true that kids who need them are less likely to ask for them at all.

I have four kids, one on the spectrum with ADHD and two with ADHD. My husband also has ADHD. It’s hard enough getting supports in the first place. The person who wrote this needs to spend some time in the life of parents whose kids need supports and have to fight for them.

He is though. He is saying we should let more bigots in and not call them bigots. To his mind that is being “a bigger tent” party. It’s gross.

Proctor was served with a subpoena by Read’s civil attorney on July 25th and was granted an extension b/c he was trying to get his job back still, there was a second subpoena after the entire phone extraction. Now there is a new motion to compel. Proctor can’t find an attorney who will rep him.

Same. I made the mistake of watching the last episode of South Park and, well do yourself a favor and just don’t watch it.

Agree with all of your sentiments. Now I have a twenty year old whose ride or die has been Aretha Franklin since she was two, a seventeen year old who likes the song Disco Inferno, and a twelve and fourteen year olds who are into Smashing Pumpkins, Blur, the Killers, Nirvana, and the Cranberries. 🎶
