Writes offensively at affectionatediscourse.substack.com. Videogames, cats, probably crying or something? Thinking about starting a podcast analysing Davis-Brydon masterpiece Human Remains. Once did words for Edge and Eurogamer, apparently.
I fucking love you, Rory Blank

Mr O. has a particularly amoral capitalist mercenary streak that he hides well in his public image. I'll never forget how angrily he defended Mrs Brown's Boys, primarily on the basis that it made a lot of money.

Some website or other crowdsourced a 54% failure rate for that first model. Amazingly, that doesn't sound too off the mark.

They really are 12.

Insanely good.

As with Batman, the 'serious and manly' phase is tiresome and overdone. What Bond needs is a return to campery of the highest order, meaning a Spy Who Loved Me / Moonraker reboot is the only reasonable way forward.

Ah but Gundam Musou 3 is the real banger. It's absolutely superb.

Openly weeping at a Kev O'Neil reference outside my usual 2000ad circles. 🥲

I saw it as part of the game's generosity towards the player, as it chimed so nicely with always offering a suite of missions across the difficulty spectrum. It's part of the invitation to get stuck in and truly play with the systems.

GameCube must be the last decent platform to fullset. Or maybe WiiU?
October 26, 2025 at 9:29 AM
There was a guy on r/gamecollecting going for a PAL PS2 fullset and the amount of late-era, short-run shovelware licensed rubbish they needed to find was genuinely alarming. Can't imagine what it's like trying to do the same for the Wii.
October 26, 2025 at 9:28 AM
Did the opposite, lent a Dreamcast and games to a mate, never saw them again. Had a PAL Cannon Spike in there.

Why I simply have a CRT on hand for these things, don't you know.
