More like straight into the 1881 Census where at least two enumerators took a different route. After that I can start matching properties. #OnePlaceStudies.

Also the last day for me in the archives for 2025. Great minds think alike! #OnePlaceStudies will continue over the break with the joys of data entry. Merry Christmas to all.

Joiners apprentice. Similar to a carpenter. Probably got another two years of the apprenticeship to go. A seven year apprenticeship is not unusual, from 14 to 21 years.

In Bucks, from 1908, there was a Compensation Board that paid out when inns & beer houses were closed by the Justices. The reports would say how many people per pub in a village. And the distance between pubs. Temperance societies were angry about the payments. Some inns became temperance hotels.

There was Chiltern Hills Temperance Association lead by Constance Lady Battersea, she was daughter of Anthony Rothschild of Aston Clinton. Her speeches were reported in local newspapers. Did a lot getting alternatives to pubs in small villages. I think her diaries are in the British Library

Longford had an early Quaker Meeting House & burial ground, the cottage still exists. The proximity of the county boundary being an important factor when being persecuted by the Middlesex Justices #OnePlaceWednesday

Give some love to Longford #One-PlaceStudy as important work is being done recording the history of the hamlet before it is demolished by Heathrow’s unnecessary third runway and corporate greed.

Lady Julia Inglefield’s work was reported in S Bucks newspapers as she attempted to get employers to take on male workers. The Belgians were living in poverty while in UK. She also attempted to divorce her husband.

The errors in the London parishes are can be seen before the Ancestry executives land at Heathrow. The adjacent parish of Stanwell is not in the Borough of Richmond. While Harmondsworth, the parish the aircraft touches down, has one film in reverse order. Problems before their luggage is found!

I did not order any Wills for Colnbrook #OnePlaceStudy There are other sources like Lloyd George Finance Act, Land Tax, Tithes, & Water Rates can give ownership information.

For all Buckinghamshire people in WWI, Buckinghamshire Remembers is a good place to start.

Time Team is alive and well living on YouTube with some of the old faces and a lot of archeology. 😁

Machine learning using one’s own data, like astronomy is acceptable as it is their own data. This research is also being compromised by Starlink’s hundreds of satellites circling the Earth 🌍

Artificial Intelligence using the Large Language Model is a whole industry based on theft. Which is one of the reasons I do not modernise the spelling used in transcribed Wills & Deeds for Colnbrook #OnePlaceStudy

The same can be said about Coleshill Hertfordshire between Amersham and Beaconsfield. A place of refuge from the Buckinghamshire Justices of the Peace.

Archivists count in folios, just to confuse ordinary folk.
