I think the movement has outgrown and outpaced Trump. I don’t think Trump created a movement so much as he took the reins of what was already there. Sure, he provided a focal point & funnel through which to centralize far-right ideology into the mainstream republican base. But he isn’t everything.

I agree. Though I wouldn’t say that none of us deserve this. If someone voted for Dementia Don, they deserve every shitty thing that goes wrong in their life as a consequence of that choice
