Off topic maybe, but perhaps not by much- Gonna be lit when on-line sports betting blows up in everyone’s faces, and blow up it will. There’s too much money and too little regulation for it to end any other way.

Agree to disagree, I’m married to an author who would be happy to explain it to you. But different strokes, right? I for one don’t appreciate “authors” intentionally f-ing w/me then passing their lack of skill off as some sort of meta-entertainment I’m just not “getting”.

Any writer will tell you how much easier their job would be if its okay it’s “absolutely plain the writers (are) riffing” and the audience doesn’t care how many balls they toss in the air but fail to (even try in this case) to catch.

Nothing feels like running in the cold. My favorite is running silently down a wide trail in a couple three inches of fresh-fallen snow. You feel like you can go fast and forever.

First two seasons were epic. Then they used season 3 to set up the show going forward (new characters, the theater troupe, competing casino owners etc) and then… they cancelled the show before S4

Love the physics of the show. In space the shortest distance between two points isn’t a straight line, and the show was there for it. Also gravity (or lack of same) has evolutionary effects. I read all six books (I think that’s the whole series?)
