Some nasty looking rain clouds just crept over Norwich (UK, where I live). That in itself is unremarkable, except when you think about how much water is locked up in the rain clouds. Can someone explain how so much water can travel above our heads?

Some birds are just difficult to photograph. Treecreepers have to be the most difficult. 1/250th into a dark shadowed area, trying to capture a swift little bird.

It may not look like much and at the time I was more intent on trying to get a clear shot in focus, but this is the most exotic bird I have photographed yet, a Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker 🥳

Stayed for one night at a great resort in a place called Phu Par Man (Thailand). Awesome views. The scale of things was out of this world mind blowing. Couldn’t stop staring at the view.

A heck of a lot of photos on Bluesky are composite. Take a nice scene, add a different sky to it, add a full moon and its reflection. Not real. Nice but made up. As a lifelong photographer I shouldn’t approve. Adding elements that weren’t there, it’s bad in its a little dishonest.

A heck of a lot of photos on Bluesky are composite. Take a nice scene, add a different sky to it, add a full moon and its reflection. Not real. Nice but made up. As a lifelong photographer I shouldn’t approve. Adding elements that weren’t there, it’s bad in its a little dishonest.
Experiments aren’t always successful or indeed tasty! But then I do like Marmite, so swings and roundabouts. Dry crunchy fish with salty overcooked peanuts, what’s not to like?
