Isn't the lesson of Nobilis somewhat "If you think anything is 'mundane' you haven't thought about it deeply enough"?

Adam: Out of interest, is a state proceeding that has been removed to federal court still a state proceeding, or does it become a federal proceeding, and hence eligible for presidential pardon or commutation?

Lion in Winter, Toole/Hepburn, such a classic Christmas movie, all about family togetherness the way it _really_ is.

Either way, the exploration and immersion in the setting is just an excuse to explore and immerse in the characters (disclosure: I've been rewatching DS9 again).

I don't know that my thoughts are particularly deep yet: I liked your description of classic fantasy recently as "Stop bad people from doing bad things in a magical place." So cozy fantasy is probably more like "Help good people do fun and homey things in a magical place."

I loved the notion of the Underwyrd when you first posted this picture years ago. I have been dreaming of cozy underground settings for low-conflict fantasy RP ever since. Thanks for new material and inspiration!

"Because I didn't _really_ want to be rolling for this, there's only one outcome that gives me what I emotionally need, but the game system is an important social crutch for me in a group I don't fully trust, so I felt forced to roll, and I can't really address *any* of this so I'm going to leave."

Have you heard any anecdotal evidence about whether their violence filter is triggering on the fictional violence of RPG descriptions?

My (brilliant) wife refers to this habit of mine as "Penelope unweaving her tapestry," which I think gives the unpleasant (if accurate) impression that I rework things because it is emotionally easier than presenting a finished work for public evaluation.

I mean ... words of fiction are prose. Titles are poetry. So the skill-sets don't _really_ cross over.

To put it another (blunter) way: "You chumps think I want less GM power because I'm not _capable_ of manipulating you as players? I ran wildly applauded Amber DRPG campaigns for _decades_. I could make you all dance like puppets while also filing my taxes on the side. I know where that path leads."

You run _D&D_ ... you know, the game that has a fifty-year-old problem of how hard it is for DMs to collaborate, because there _used to be_ no technology capable of acting as a detached coordinator for multiple story-lines in a single world.

Speaking as both a gamer *and* a programmer, it is distressing to me how many AI evangelists immediately and instinctively want to use AI to do either (a) new things nobody wants or (b) old things AI doesn't improve.

I find this really weird, because I will (likely always) think of you as the person from whom I learned the core of narrative story-gaming:

Me: I fight God to find out what They want
You: God surrenders
Me: So what do They want?
You: Well *I* don't know. But now your character does.
Me: Oh no.

Well, certainly nothing about that device indicates caring for the child.

Just for a start: The whole design of baby bjorns aims to give the kid mobility and visibility of the world where possible. Flat-packing an infants head into a cranked and immobile position is probably criminal child neglect.

On a scale from "WorldHoppers" to "Rise and Fall of Sanctuary Moon", how much did this media stream improve my functionality index?

Likewise, if you need a boring vanilla old guy to read your kissing books and give feedback, I am happy to oblige.

I like your idea in that it unearths something that feels core to Punk: "We have a grievance, and if you thought about it then you'd realize it's your grievance too."

I'm putting my money in the "which Kickstarter?" betting pool on _Lords of Gossamer and Shadow,_ but the potential field is broad.

The added value of further bewildering you by increasing the gap is a powerful incentive for cis folks to throw money your way.
