I read Attica Locke's newest novel "Guide Me Home" as I read all her novels. One of my favourite crime/thriller writers.
Other favourite black writers (small selection) James Baldwin, Walter Mosley, Wole Soyinka, Ngugi wa Thiongo, Maaza Mengiste, Jhumpa Lahiri, Kamila Shamsie, Arundhati Roy

New here. I don't have pictures of front covers to post I'm afraid since I mainly use libraries. I am chiefly influenced by C19 realist novels and modern crime/thrillers.
The House of the Dead - Fyodor Dostoevsky (got me started on his entire works with lurid title at 16 :)
