A day late but not a dollar short.

In Northern Carolina, it's 70+ degrees today which is perfect for our favorite tradition: Wednesday night oysters, cocktail shrimp, slaw, and baked potatoes. Probably closer to the original Thanksgiving than anything we'll eat in the next two days.

This is cold, coconut lemongrass. But I made Japanese curry noodles so it fits.
Looks like vomit but it's actually delicious. Fresh Korean knife cut noodles with a curry made from kabocha squash, mushrooms, shallots, turmeric, garam masala, coconut milk, topped with green onions and sesame seeds.

Texans are wrong about many things, but the thing y'all are most wrong about* is beans in chili.
Bowl of chili, focus on the beans. This is a 4 bean beef chili with pumpkin, lots of cumin, smoked paprika, ancho chili power, garlic, onion, celery, and these unidentified peppers from my friend's garden. A couple of serranos and several of these that look like habaneros but are actually mild like banana or bell peppers. Shredded cheddar, homemade sour cream (lemon juice, black pepper, and garlic salt mixed into Greek yogurt), green onions from my herb garden, and saltines finish it off.

Haven't really ever made a real omelet, this is a pic of my second attempt today (no waste, the teen got the inferior one) and it's fairly mediocre. Ham and cheese inside, chives (that I grew) and a little hot sauce on the outside. I can't figure out how to trifold at the right time so the inside cooks through but the outside doesn't get too brown.

This one is tough. Compliments are never expected so it's hard to answer but I will say that the ones that make me feel best are [redacted, read alt text you lazy bitches]
What's something you wish more people would compliment you for? My favorite have been that I'm fair, that I listen and give good advice without judgment, that I'm a good mom, that I'm easy to open up to, and that I'm the best kisser they've ever kissed. Not all from the same person. Also I always think that when people call me funny I wish they thought I was attractive instead, but when people imply they think I'm attractive I always want to be like OH SO YOU DON'T THINK I'M FUNNY?!!
