Such a brilliant day at the first year anniversary of Battersea Park Run!
Almost 1,000 people participated, not all running, but the conviciality was there for all to see.
Really enjoyed being there after 25,000 people had participated over year, with 43,000 finishes.

Great to be at Springfield Park for the grand opening of facilities and the park.
Great to see the London Mayor, MP and Council Leader in their patch and so many of the NHS staff, celebrating.

Lovely day at BATCA's Broadwater Road Funday.
Unveiling of blue plaque for Constance Cummings-John, who became a councillor in Sierra Leone at 20 and later Mayor of Freetown, later coming to live at 20, Broadwater Rd in Tooting until her death in 2000, being Burntwood, Boadwater &Fircroft Schools.

Visited the truly impressive, Barn Elms Sports Centre.
Tennis, rugby, football, mini-soccer, Gaelic games, beach volleyball, a gym and a council owned rowing club, all here on the banks of the Thames.
Would be great to see more facilities, as the borough lacks sports pitches

Casework Surgery at Tooting Library again this week.
3 cases, one I couldn't help with as I needed to know the person for 2 years, 1 was a repeat case that was fraught with language issues and another with unresolved piping problems.

So nice to be invited to open the Stag Beetle Loggery at Fishponds Playing Fields yesterday.
The fields are a wonderful balance between sports and bio-diversity.
Well done to Friends of Fishponds,, but also Enable who brought this into being.

I'm sure Jeremy's second term will be brilliant, but we'll miss the first Hijab wearing, Shia Muslim Mayor and her big smile!

1/2 Thursday was Famine Memorial Day, when over 1m Irish people were allowed to starve to death, while food was shipped out of the country for English consumption.

His Irish roots was something we shared & his passion for housing.
