Shanice agrees to talk at Doug’s funeral. Shanice learns that Jacob is aware of Derek’s progress but has to stay quiet about what she knows due to HIPAA. They talk around it. Both hope Derek will do the right thing.

Hayley learns Bill is looking into Dani’s wedding from Caroline, confronts Bill but he’s not interested in her objections. He’s painting Andre as the bad guy. Hayley calls him out on the lies. He tries to gaslight her. He tries to fix things later but struggles having sex w Hayley due to Dani kiss.

Derek and Ashley attempt to have sex, but Derek struggles because he can’t move his legs. Ashley takes over so he doesn’t have to do much.
DL tries to seduce Ted again. Ted tells her it won’t happen and leaves. DL doesn’t plan to give up.

7. Tidbits: Shanice tells Derek his idea to surprise Ash at the wedding isn’t romantic, flipping the script on a classic soap story staple. She informs him that Andre is married. Derek thinks he can be honest w Ashley now. He changes his mind when he sees a close moment shared between Ash/Andre.

Martin tells him that he only wants them living together if they're 100% committed. He doesn't let Smitty get a word in, keeps interrupting. His mind is made up but claims the ball is in Smitty's court. This felt manipulative on Martin's part. He leaves for his things. Smitty is shocked/hurt.

6. Martin/Smitty: They have dinner. Smitty seems into it, leans forward to kiss him. Martin pulls back. He's done w heartbreak. Smitty apologizes for saying the last time they had sex was just sex. He doesn't want them to keep hurting each other. Martin announces he's moving out. Smitty asks why.

To get Jacob back to reality, Naomi recognizes how happy he is about this, how she loves how happy he is bc that's part of the reason she loves him. She doesn't want to dump on his dreams. He wants her honesty. She admits that even though she loves seeing him happy that doesn't change she isn't.

Naomi struggles giving up on her work, her commitment to the community that she has worked so hard to build up. Jacob doesn't want her to give up on that, pushes they can do this as a team. He reminds her of her experience as a kid, all the love she got from her family. Naomi thinks she'll fail.

Naomi reveals she's pregnant. Jacob is ecstatic, ignores the fact that Naomi never wanted kids. They agreed on it. Jacob sees this accident as a shift for their family. He struggles to accept Naomi not wanting this and pushes his family fantasy on her. He really wants to raise a family w her.

5: Raising up the community: Jacomi continue to support June, learn she's interested in Ted, her kids' grandfather after they give her advice on how to flirt. They aren't sure what to do about this. After her convo w Andre, Naomi informs Jacob she isn't feeling well. Jacob returns home w soup.

Dandre regroup. They struggle w some insecurity triggers (re: Ash/Bill/Dupree family wrath) but they are mostly honest (Dani doesn't tell Andre about the Bill kiss). They agree on some ground rules: 1. Open/honest/continual conversation. 2. Open marriage. 3. Andre gets a drawer in Dani's home.

Naomi acknowledges her fears that this will create a divide between her & Dani like it did between her & Bill thanks to Hayley. After Andre begs for peace/celebration, Naomi gives her blessing, but warns she inherited Bill/Dani's worse traits. She tells him not to hurt Dani.

Andre is grilled by Nicole & Naomi separately. He gets both to backdown but his convo w Naomi is probably where he won points w the fam. Andre was able to destroy Naomi's narrative. He agrees to a postnup to show he's not after her money. He has his own money bc of his parents/career.

Dani claims Andre has made her see the things she wasn't getting before. He's a better man than Bill bc he allows her that freedom to be herself. The real Dani. Bill tries to say their past outweighs that. Dani isn't interested in that. She does warn him that Hayley isn't stable & it makes her sad.

Dani visits Bill, catches him obsessing over her marriage. She wants to sever their past romantic connection. They try being mean to each other but that leads to a kiss. Bill isn't happy. Dani calls Bill out on wanting to own her while being married to Hayley. Andre is helping her move forward.

Nicole tells Anita the latest on Dandre, which leads Anita to interrupt a moment of afternoon delight between Dandre. Alone, Anita learns how Andre has been w Dani concerning her drinking. Dani admits her addiction is Bill. Anita hopes she can break that before her life is destroyed for good.

4. To annul or not to annul: Andre/Ted reflect on recent decisions. Ted regrets sleeping w DL, thinks Andre made a mistake w Dani. They see Nicole w Carlton, decide to crash, & share that Dandre aren't getting an annulment. Nicole is upset, tells Ted he has no say in her life. She kisses Carlton.
