Just saw my first (this fall) slate junco. That can only mean one thing here (MN)--Winter is Coming.

I learned years ago to buy the best I can afford in classic designs. They never really go out of style; you save in the long run by not having to replace them. Not adding to landfills is good. That said, I have some really old things I can't stand to wear anymore and they won't wear out!

Until more modern times, seeking medical attention was more likely to put you in the grave than make you healthy. Thank goodness for progress! We still have a way to go, though.
