He turned to Colin, “Evidently, you have not only led Penelope astray, which again, I can do little about, since she is now your wife, but you have allowed Eloise to know of your inappropriate behavior and corrupted—” Colin scoffed at the same time that Eloise let out a laugh of disbelief. “You think Colin would corrupt me? He is literally obsessed with being a gentleman.” Penelope knew it would not help matters, but she could not contain her giggle.

I carried them with me when I went to Greece. And I do not just mean the ones you sent me during the trip. I brought every letter you had ever written me. Even my mother told me she knew that the letters I sent to you from Eton were longer and more frequent than those I sent her.” Colin touched her cheek again, unable to stop himself. “The letters were more a symptom than a cause. I wrote you because I already loved you. Even if I was too much of a fool to know it.”

Another completed fic of mine is Falling Forward. Colin goes to bed after returning from Greece in 1813 (2x02), but then wakes up in 1816 to find he’s married to Penelope and has a son.
