This song has been unavailable for 35 years, but I have some pretty sweet connections

The reason why The Mookie Mash has been unavailable for 35 years is because the Monster Mash song owner refused to waive their royalty rates for those Variety Village compilation CDs.

Ruth, can you really not see the difference between deeming something inappropriate and labelling a man a child abuser?

who's defending it?

we sort of explain that off the top... I sure invited him!

I blame social media for killing both

you'd think police would charge the guy considering how many millions of people have watched the video evidence you deem so conclusive it's not even worthy of an actual conversation

This is why social media sucks... meet me for a beer and we'll discuss this... everything you direct at me is built upon the premise "Fergie Olver is a child abuser".

what I'm doing is defending my right to share a conversation with Fergie about what you've seen in the video, and to post about the episode on Bluesky without Bluesky blocking said post.

That's all.

since Alejandro knows, do you think my posts about that episode should be blocked by Bluesky?

A video supercut of Fergie kissing young girl contestants (again, this is icky and aged like milk) got tossed into the Jimmy Savile salad (Jimmy was a true sicko) and suddenly any mention of Fergie Olver needs to be blocked.

That's just wrong.

I've had lengthy conversations with Kate Wheeler, who worked on Just Like Mom, Paul Burford, who created Just Like Mom, Fergie's daughter and Fergie himself.

As icky as the on-air schtick of this program was, and it aged like milk, it was a product of the time and resulted in zero allegations.
