Or it keeps starting over and getting to like 60% or more then failing. Then after 3 or 4 tries it says it cannot be backed up or whatever.

I had one machine where it worked fine and that was it.

Yeah built a hook & feature for that a while back for work that worked pretty decently. It has some issues discerning breaks of silence in sentences & it def struggles with technical terms but there’s ways to improve the options that it decides on

How dare u! I’m so sophisticated. I’ve never even used regular mustard. Only Spicy Dijon.

Yes. But stay off the cobblestone you fool.

Here, we do “tepid takes”. Or “TT” for short.

Yeah, if it’s used deeply and all over, to me, that’s a code smell but there are cases where it makes sense. But it’s so often overused as a stop gap to poor types &/or data validation.

Every Jira ticket today will be done in regex and there’s not a thing u can do to stop me

Yeah I’ve always used date pickers when the action involves picking an unknown date, ranges or report settings etc. If it’s presumed u already know the date just allow them to enter it instead jumping thru hoops to select it.

True. But digital distribution works a little differently & the card processing companies have everyone bent over a barrel. If everyone just paid a small sum when they felt like it it’d be a lot harder to measure churn for an industry that’s already struggling

That and transaction fees/surcharges would eat a lot of this up I think. All around not a worthwhile plan.

Excited about this one.

Actually I think the early aughts saw a political landscape far more uniform & settled w/ the fringes remaining on the fringes. Everything made “sense” mostly. As the parties began to split the takes, in parallel, became more non-sensical w/ it. Some found the “sense” & others only lost it more.

Politics is def like the WWF now. But, I think the crucial part is the brand. Not as much the celebrity. You need a strong brand & u need ppl to hear it. If any voter isn’t aware of what u stand for/want then u lose.
December 2, 2024 at 6:42 PM
Yeah I feel that. But I think the likely scenario is that the “old way” of campaigning might be over with. The new way is a branding campaign like a celebrity brand & performing outreach by dominating all media outlets not just cable tv. U need influence in social media. Musk does that for trump
December 2, 2024 at 6:40 PM
I don’t think there was much viability in anyone who was attached to this admin or even just the “old guard” way of politics. I think u need someone w/ the “outsider” brand that’s likable & sincere. Or better messaging.
December 2, 2024 at 6:20 PM
I do think our messaging was insufficient. But I think we may be seeing a shift in how ppl view candidates & what they “want”. Not that ppls views r shifting but their sources of info & what they’ll vote for. I think we may need to address the WWF style of campaigning/messaging. Idk honestly.
December 2, 2024 at 6:16 PM
Yep. I think that’s actually the *primary* bit. Our material reality is one way (good & bad) but ppls perspective on what our reality is & who’s responsible for it being that way is what drove this election. Low-info voters rejected material reality for a mystery box formed from lies.
December 2, 2024 at 4:37 PM
Yeah. Ppl vote for what they believe will happen & not what will actually happen. And it’s a tough pill to swallow to admit that ur vote & ur choice & ur view was categorically wrong & made things worse. I have little faith ppl come around unless he has some massive obvious failing that ppl hate
December 2, 2024 at 3:40 PM
We live in the post-truth world where it isn’t what’s reality that matters to many, it’s what u can convince the many of that becomes “reality”. And some ppl r primed for delusion. But also, his brand is that of a celebrity where ppl justify/deny bad things cuz they like him. Can’t do much there
December 2, 2024 at 3:32 PM
Trump has become the blank palette for voter projections. They project whatever they want onto him & reject everything else that competes w/ that. It’s because he’s so insane that ppl think “that can’t possibly be true” when it is true. They see what they want & nothing else.
