We elect representatives to take agency and responsibility. They have the agency and the platform. Why are we victims when we are forced to take action because our leaders are not doing anything to prevent this?

Were there no quota, and a focus on deporting only the worst of the worst, this could've been a win-win from the outset. Instead, he chose to divide us again, probably knowing that he could win however terrible and tragic this has turned out to be

There is reason in raising alarm to international crime syndicates illegally here. We could all agree to let ICE go after them.
That isn’t outweighed by the truth that quotas set by the administration have led to an overwhelmingly inhumane approach by ICE in which the wrong people are targeted

Or maybe, just maybe a more tenable political position would be to let ICE go after the real criminals only.
We in part lost the last election by crying out “defund the police,” as economically disadvantaged cities rolled their eyes.
I hope we don’t make the same mistake again
