This text is truly fantastic. And it helps me understand why I have such difficulties with the presentation and didactics of the whole subject in introductory philosophy courses... and I love how analogies with music are used here to illustrate reading as a social practice.

Heute vor 65 Jahren sind meine Großeltern mit meiner Mutter im Bauch und mit meiner Tante, die damals noch ein Baby war, aus der DDR geflohen, weil mein Opa es nicht ertragen hat, die Kinder als Lehrer indoktrinieren zu müssen. Ihm wurde hier nichts anerkannt, er musste alles nochmal studieren.
