Not defending the specific new owners of EA, but your criticism doesn't really make sense. That style of capitalism is much more evident in *public* companies that are chasing quarterly profits to appease the share holders.

Kind of. There is not one set future. Time is only linear in Aedelor, but on every other plane time does not exist. So the gods on their planes can see usually see all of time on Aedelor at once. But that also means seeing all possibilities at once. This is why gods can be wrong.

Ask about goals at the *end* of the session so you know what to prep for next.

Have players do the session recaps so you get an idea of what stood out to them as important. It also encourages note taking. Reward a meta currency to the player that did recap.

Curse of Monkey Island is genuinely my #1 game of all time. I replay it every few years and still laugh at the jokes. "Pappapisshu!" is a regular expression in our household.

There's a demo on Steam. Demos have kinda been making a come back in the past year or two and I am a super big fan of that.

I mean, many spells consume those costly components, including Revivify. It's not a very useful value determination of that thing is then immediately gone.

AGH it's been on my list for a while but there's so many other games, and the releases aren't slowing down. Maybe I'll have to pick it up this winter when it's most thematic.

Also playing Hollow Knight for the first time and loving it. I like the Soulslike aspects. I think they lend well to the tone and mood, and heighten the risk/reward of pushing your exploration or doubling back to safety. That's something that I don't think works for all Soulslikes, but does for HK.
