Could you imagine the response if a democratic president said they didn’t know if they had to uphold the Constitution?

How fast would the articles of impeachment be drawn ?

In the continuing saga of “What happens when a 65 year old man decides he wants to be a writer, when he grows up?”: I just registered to attend my first (hopefully not last) writer’s conference. The Wyoming Writers Conf. in Casper in June. Kinda exciting.

Recently, I received the greatest compliment I have ever experienced. After reviewing a column I had submitted, my Editor said she wished that she had written that column. That’s going to keep me working at my craft for a long time.

Several times I have seen extensive discussions on Facebook regarding what makes someone good at writing. I’ve seen a lot of ideas suggested, but I think the best way to learn to write, is to read the works of good writers - Dickens, Steinbeck, Dostoevsky, etc.

I am working on a couple of short stories, to submit to some writing contests. I have never done this before, and am curious to see what the experience will be.

I practiced law for 40 years, and became adept at drafting legal briefs, and journal articles. In my writing, the thing I find most difficult, is finding ways to avoid the dreaded “Wherefore.” It certainly does not belong in any kind of a story - but it will make an appearance in that first draft.

Very important statement from the American Bar Association.

We stand for the rule of law. We stand for the vital role of our courts and the essential job that lawyers do every day throughout our country. We reject efforts to undermine the courts and the profession.

I am retired, and would like to begin a second career as a writer/author. I began freelance writing a little over a year ago - contributing stories for a weekly newspaper, which is published in the small town, where I live in Wyoming.
