Happy Birthday to the late Grateful Dead piano player Keith Godchaux, who was a genius. The first record he played on was Ace, and Christgau described him as a cross between “Jerry Lee Lewis and Chick Correa.” He was a pioneer and an important piece to the sound we know as the Grateful Dead.

I was feeling inspired by the nature around my house and felt the urge to write a tune about it:

Regular Magnolia
Blossoms blooming
Something something
And I don’t care

Going to listen to some Dylan today…well, more than usual.

It’s considered one of the best Dead shows ever and the best Scarlet>Fire by many Deadheads. It’s not the best show or best Scarlet>Fire of the 77 Spring tour. But it’s still a pretty damn fun listen!

Modern NBA can be really hard to watch sometimes. The world’s best players and they’re just launching brick after brick.

A little Grateful Dead adjacent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame news, with induction of Nicky Hopkins. Played on many of the Kinks records, some Stones, and countless others. Also, a member of the original Jerry Garcia Band.
