Also finally finished Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest
The artstyle softening up reminds me of other ecchi series doing similar moving further out of the 2000's like To Love Ru and Queen's Blade, mixed results here. Mashima had some decent battle plots he was sitting on, but feels safe at the same time.

Halloween watch was The Dead Don't Die
This movie really was good at wasting your time making you wonder where it was going, only to go nowhere. Too little empathy to be consistently funny but was always trying. Tilda Swinton's weird scottish samurai was the best joke, and they ruin that in the end

Not putting this on the media thread quite yet but I caught up on Fire Emblem Shadows' current content. Its decent as a mobile title and borderline ethical with its monetization (which may account for its low profits so far), but it almost feels like a mobile game release into early access.

Finished Pokemon PLZA
Pretty addictive and fun. The lack of a Koraidon to ride around on had me jonesing for the return of the bike, and the story wasn't as good as SV's, but the finale is pretty hype and sticks the landing. Glad Game Freak has been letting their otaku flag fly with characters, too

And I finished Splatoon 3 today
I remember enjoying Splatoon 2 but finding it surprisingly hard. With Splatoon 3 being a bit more evenly difficult, I kinda missed the high challenge level. Great game though, the campaigns here are really Nintendo's own Portal series.

Saw One Battle After Another yesterday
It's a lot of great scenes with continuously well executed tension for a thriller, but the connective tissue is convoluted and overlong. Despite the great scenes they brought some subplots could've been cut. Worth it, but I was getting antsy for it to end

Finished Hades II
Maybe my favorite roguelike now, being that Hades 1 was already great and this is a sequel that improves it in almost every way. I intend to do a few of the post-game things, and if it leaves me close to it, go for 100%. But a wonderful game that suited my tastes almost perfectly.

Finished Hades II
Maybe my favorite roguelike now, being that Hades 1 was already great and this is a sequel that improves it in almost every way. I intend to do a few of the post-game things, and if it leaves me close to it, go for 100%. But a wonderful game that suited my tastes almost perfectly.

But y'all know Perfect Blue, it's goated with the sauce and all. Second in my mind only to Millenium Actress but still one of the very few horror anime to make me feel real fear watching it.

It's great, and while I may not be the biggest SH fan in the world, I know it fits right in with the series. Almost picking up right where the PS2 games left off. A couple rough edges but, it was hard to put down.

The introductory missions are a mess of level layout, not making geographic sense until the ruins level which is abuse-ably easy to bottleneck enemies in. Like look at me bully this guy into a corridor with his dead friends

Watched The Naked Gun (2025) with my dad tonight
As good as you could hope a Naked Gun reboot could be. Really funny most of the time and usually keeping well in tone with the old Nielsen/Zucker spoofs. I do think the finale was shorter on really funny gags, but it was still fun til the end.

Will post that I solo cleared the Diablo 1 Beelzebub HD mod, which was really cool though the game ranges from Peak Kino to What The Fuck This Shit pretty frequently, and I brought a solo character to Hell for the first time in my first Diablo 2 Remaster playthrough but Hell is toooooo haaaard solo

It was maybe frontloaded with its best episodes up through episode 6 or so, but the latter episodes still had me smiling ear-to-ear nonstop. And having rewatched a few of the original series episodes, New PSG reflects the studio being much more in tune with what PSG should be.
