History says people did for a time. People were afraid of it. I think you do understand the point though. When technology feels beyond people’s control or understanding it’s a boogeyman.

Happens with any new technology but this feels more out of control to people than having the magic of electricity or a telephone in your house. You could choose not to give up your candles, now you can’t really opt out.

What worries me is how long the personal data has been harvested and what largely unregulated AI has been doing with it and what they will do in future. Doesn’t seem unreasonable to not trust some of these tech bros. Hashtag horse is out of the barn.
