At least it was cute. Actually very cute. Personally i didnt even encounter roadblocks except that one miniboss, so my playthrough was relatively smooth. But i imagine with some bad luck this turns into one hell of an experience.

Definitely a game.
Why TADA. It would have been fine if it was just an undercooked RPG System like in 4.1 and 4.2 (vibes are similar anyway). Instead you have this piece of something. Im sorry for whoever tried to get all the Kurupiston Lore without losing their mind.

I have now lost this fight 15 times straight with minimal options to prepare and no way of avoiding it.

I used the skip button to roll through a battle that i already lost 4 times, just to see it skip the conversation afterwards.
So i quickly closed the game and reloaded
just to see that the game autosaved AFTER the dialogue i missed
Im starting to get pissed off

I think ive finished 5 or 6 FE games now and Hard Mode scares me to this day. I already have to reset a fair amount on normal

And maybe how they handled the success. The EN translator put some more info into the alice mansion section and they mentioned lifetime sales of around 100.000. Which seem absolutely insane for a japanese only PC eroge in the mid 90s.

Are there interviews from that time? Now that i think about it, i havent looked into the dev commentary as this time around you gotta visit alicesoft ingame which takes city actions away from your turns. But the makings of kichikuou seem really interesting. When it shifted from 5, what happens after

Im particularly intrigued by 6 for more focus on zeth as it seemed like the most original concept for the continents nations and 7 for its gameplay. Kichikuou seems like a taste for whats to come and ive thoroughly enjoyed its gameplay component for what it was.

I could go for so much alternative stuff, but ill let it rest for now. Maybe i will go back to it sometime in the future to try out something different (i wanna see the mech fight between freak and redeye) but first i wanna continue through the other games.

With mostly textboxes and portraits, the OST is doing the heavy lifting here. Every empire got its on theme with 3 different versions that are used for different situations when their respective nation comes up in scenes. The big hitters for me are Slaver ~Pathos~ and Ontology ~Wailing~.

With mostly textboxes and portraits, the OST is doing the heavy lifting here. Every empire got its on theme with 3 different versions that are used for different situations when their respective nation comes up in scenes. The big hitters for me are Slaver ~Pathos~ and Ontology ~Wailing~.
Be it the empire of helman, being solely upheld by its military might since its lands are barren, with corrution spreading through every part of its system. Zeth with its slave system thats integral to its function, some great concepts all around...and japan with the sengoku jidai...

Alot of drama this time around. So, so, so many conflicts in so many parts of the world are getting introduced, most of the time from one second to the next and within just a few textboxes. But those conflicts and drama gives these characters the memorability that they desperately need.

The portraits are the main thing you see in conversations thoughout. Sadly no different facial expressions, the amount of characters probably didnt allow for it, but they are all great to look at.
