Draw what you want! Sounds really basic but solely making art with the expectation of popularity + success will poison the well of your artistic spirit, and you won’t really develop an artistic voice if you’re just trying appease your audience at all times, save for a voice that actually isn’t yours

Draw what you want! "Draw every day" is straight up bad advice
Draw regularly, yes, but the hand is a muscle and like with any skill, rest days are critical. You need to rest and recharge, read/watch/play etc in order to keep those creative juices going

I think its fucking crazy that Grok is actively generating deepfakes and csam as we speak but if I want to commission a nsfw painting of two fictional characters and pay it through paypal I could get myself and the artist banned from the site. Like honestly, fuck all of this.

You GOTTA get cheap shitty art supplies you don't care about so you can focus on having fun with ideas instead of pretty results.
(You can still have your fancy high end stuff you make an effort with ofc. but my cheap sketchbook and a fistful of office ballpoints has become a lifeline for me)
