Will the Congress stop him, eventually?

So you checked the formula used to calculate the tariffs? And you didn't notice that tariffs on US imports in all those countries does not go into it at all?! So whatever they are, they were irrelevant. Nothing reciprocal about them - it's made up.
April 8, 2025 at 4:16 PM
So you haven't checked it. You just have blind faith in the government.
April 8, 2025 at 9:22 AM
Which scientific discovery would contradict it?
April 7, 2025 at 8:05 PM
No, not at all. But if you want to disagree with the experts in any field, you better be an expert in it too. Otherwise you're very likely to embarrass yourself. That's the same for your car mechanic, your dentist, as well as your biologist.

So then, make your case.
April 7, 2025 at 6:36 PM
But if you think you can "apply science" to modern evolutionary theory better than millions of scientists worldwide, then go ahead: make your case and I'll show you where you're wrong.
April 7, 2025 at 5:25 PM
Do you have any idea of how much progress was made in the field of biology in the last 160 years? I don't care about what Darwin understood or not.
So if you, a pastor with, let me guess, no scientific education, somehow were able to "apply science" to anything, you were looking in the wrong place.

Just because Trump calls them reciprocal doesn't mean they are reciprocal. Research it for 5 seconds. You know very well that he is lying all the time.
April 7, 2025 at 5:10 PM
OK. So what does that have to do with trade and tariffs?
April 7, 2025 at 5:07 PM
- trade is a network; A buys from B, B from C, and C from A. Deficits or surpluses between A and B, or A and C are irrelevant.
- services and tourism are ignored. They are trade too.
He's just inventing a foreign enemy to present himself as a hero. Wrecking global economy for a good image.
April 7, 2025 at 10:41 AM
So when I buy something from you, I'm subsidising you?
Also:
- 10% tariffs on imports from countries where the US has a trade surplus? I.e. those that are "subsidising" the US?
April 7, 2025 at 10:41 AM
Invent a foreign threat, and present yourself as the hero.
April 7, 2025 at 10:16 AM
The 'dictators playbook' comes to mind: invent a foreign threat and present yourself as the hero who fights back.
April 7, 2025 at 10:09 AM
So you needed to hear/see from other people that it's even a possibility to not believe that stuff? Interesting.
(I think I didn't need that - but maybe I'm wrong; very different situation than mine)

An entire personality consisting only of a single proposition to one question? I'd call that boring instead. (Should such a person exist)
April 1, 2025 at 7:38 PM
Honest question: what does it mean to "discover atheism"?

For me it was never more than that religious claims didn't make any sense to me, so it didn't believe in them.
April 1, 2025 at 7:33 PM
See humanism, for example.
April 1, 2025 at 7:27 PM
If you use "religious" in this broadest sense (rightfully or not), then atheist just doesn't mean non-religious anymore, does it?

But what's your point then - other than that you don't like what some atheists do?
