Honestly aside from playable Marsha and the new garments, 3.3 feels very sauceless to le so far. I'm more excited for event stories than the main one atp

I know. Apparently it's only skippable on NG+ which is fair imo. That part works well on a first playthrough at least, it really helps showing Hinako's uphill struggle and how mentally worn down she is at that point.

Yeah, I don't think the combat was too bad either especially since SH is known for having mid combat. But I think it got very repetitive on multiple playthroughs especially near the end with the mandatory back to back fights. Other than that I think SHF is a pretty good entry to the SH franchise.

Yeah, I was fed up with the game at the time cuz it felt like a real slog by ng++ so I read it in bad faith at first. Hinako does push back against their excuses and she says herself that she shouldn't have to forgive them. So yeah, the game doesn't justify them for what they did.

I'm not against characters being more than one dimensional villains but it kinda feels like they're making excuses. It kinda diminishes the endless horrible things we've been shown earlier when the story goes "yeah it isn't so bad after all". At least we have Hinako pushing back a bit

Also remember Hinako being mad at her father for mistreating her family, and at her Mother for enabling him and making excuses for him? Turns out her mom isn't afraid to stand up for herself and he's actually a very nice guy when he's not around his daughters so he's actually not a terrible husband

Poor guy he's so sowwy 🥺for traumatizing his daughter during a formative stage of her life. Sure she doesn't have to forgive him but he's family in the end so she should tolerate him❤️

Nvm I'm probably going to do the 3rd run next week. It's just the final stretch of the game is so draining

There are around 4 types of enemies with 2 variations for each but their designs are overall solid, coherent and reflect the game's theme.
But I feel like the combat is ShF biggest weakness. It was never SH's strong point so the focus on the combat actively undermines the horror aspect

I love the visuals for the game. ShF caught my attention from the early teaser with the woman covered in flowers so it was nice seeing how they used growing red flowers and leaves to show the corruption and decay, especially in contrast with the lumps of flesh growing alongside them
