Interesting, not sure how successful this will be. Amazon has extensive digital protection and as an author, you don't want to risk piracy. So if the new company can't guarantee this. Plus Amazon do extensive discounts, especially on the 1st of the month. #booksky

The shortlist is out and The Telegraph are predicting India (Kiran Desai) or Britain (Andrew Miller). I think it will probably be a novel about immigration, but it may not be Desai. We will see. #booksky

Oh no, they are two of my favourites. Have you changed your mind since? Can't think of a book in school but as a student had to read Lawrence Sterne's Tristan Shandy, hated that.

August summary. Four books, three fiction and one non-fiction. Gothic, Midnight Bell. Historical fiction on Constantine. Christian non fiction overcoming fear. One sci-fi which disappointed.

I watched King & Conqueror on the BBC and thought, as the critics suggest, it may be historically inaccurate, but entertaining. If you are interested in something more well-researched, you could try MJ Porter's books on the Earl of Mercia. #booksky #historicalfiction
