I’m writing my first novel. I also love to read and will go mama bear for humanity when threatened. Current state of humanity: threatened.
Now I need it too. 👀 (I see some on Etsy)

To believe empathy is bad or toxic is to not have empathy. Empathy is an enemy of tyranny because it is loud and unapologetic and it only grows—it never backs down, will not fear, won’t wear armor and yet it is incapable of dying.

“Without facts, you can’t have truth. Without truth, you can’t have trust. Without all three, we have no shared reality, and democracy as we know it—and all meaningful human endeavors—are dead.”

-One of Maria Ressa’s great quotes from that book.

Glad I read

She is a brave and incredible woman.

Don’t give up. Personally I think all the best writers doubt themselves at times. ;)

I had periods in my life where I didn’t read as much (books, anyway)… because life, and every time I come back to them I remember how much I love reading. I’ve been going for a few years straight now and I just want to read more and more as time goes. Best addiction ever ;) enjoy!!

I’m not sure. It’s confusing to me, too. What I do know is the books available are different depending on which library card you have. That’s why having two (or more) can make sense, I guess. Lol.

I know I don’t have to live in the area to sign up for a library card as I have one from two different libraries (and use both online in the Libby app)… but I don’t know how far out of the area you can live… like state or country lol. I’m in the US. Hope it helps. :)
