So your fancy degree says it takes six months to fully restore a website? If the answer is no it doesn't take that long then you need to sit this one out.

Damn bootlicker that thing is down your throat

Buddy they can add two factor after opening the site up. Changes get made to websites that are up and running all the time. We could have been back on SF months ago if they just restored it and kept working on the updates instead of wanting to push it all on us at once. It's pretty freaking stupid
December 27, 2025 at 2:05 PM
So seven months of no SF are completely fine for you just because two factor is the entire make it or break it? They could add it later and show some good faith by getting the site up now. But no, gotta have an excuse to delay things. Next month they'll just use something else as the excuse
December 27, 2025 at 2:03 PM
But they didn't yank down FA for six months. There's kind of a difference in the grand scheme of things you just don't seem to be getting. Your white knighting for Toumal isn't doing any good. Site has been down so long most have moved on and accepted it as a total loss.
December 27, 2025 at 2:01 PM
Loads of furry sites don't have it at all. FA doesn't have two factor and there's no rioting in the streets over it. People just go there and use it. Delaying the site for that is bullshit. The site should have been back months ago but they wanted that beta crap instead
December 26, 2025 at 6:37 PM
Yeah because delaying for that is pure bullshit. It's non essential for the operation of the site.

Christmas of next year maybe. The estimate of being up by the end of the year is about to be another missed deadline. Sucks that there is only the one furry site for stories. They need real competition.
December 25, 2025 at 4:52 PM
Their timeline of having the site up by the end of the year is almost over. I expect another update to be posted in a week or so letting us know "soon" and to keep waiting and they are "close."
December 20, 2025 at 5:47 PM
Almost six months of down time, no way users are flooding back in. Likely lost a fair bit of casual users to FA and Weasyl at this point. If you cant trust them to get back up in a reasonable amount of time, it turns people off. And it's been nothing but "soon" every update post for months.
December 17, 2025 at 7:59 PM
But we don't have that place. We have no evidence it will even be back up soon. Just a lot of "trust us bro." Which is annoying given they could have easily restored the site months ago and delayed the beta full release deal till it was actually ready.
December 17, 2025 at 7:56 PM
SF search worked. Follows worked. The tab where all the submissions posted by people you followed, worked. Following a series worked.

Nothing on the beta worked. Considering it's almost been six full months, the beta wasn't worth keeping and should have been tossed in the trash.
December 17, 2025 at 3:14 AM
Are you honestly saying 2.0 was bad? That's an insane take considering how absolutely garbage the beta for SF Next was.
December 17, 2025 at 3:11 AM
We're getting six months of downtime for that? A bare bones site is better than six months of nothing. Should have stuck to the original idea of just getting it up in read only mode and going from there.

Really doubting the site is coming back at all if TFA was something you delayed for.

Joke's on everyone who thought this was the deadline they'd stick with. Holidays are coming up and SF isn't their full time gig. No chance they get the busted beta up and running properly before January.
December 14, 2025 at 9:03 PM
Agreed, five months of down time for what? Bunch of changes none of us asked for nor want. They should have just ported the site over to the new hardware and got it back up and running.
December 4, 2025 at 1:05 PM
They still have to get the beta up and running without it catching on fire. If they just migrated the site onto new hardware it would have been back online before the first month ticked by.

They are scrambling to write code and get the beta updated and into a finalized state.

Anyone know of a good alternative we can post stories to? I'm completely done with SoFurry at this point. The forced down time to swap to the beta. The long periods between updates that seem promising but aren't. I'm getting off this merry go round.
