My latest icon is the image of God as mother hen. It illustrates God’s longing to shelter and protect the people, but they would not allow it. That resonates with the present day, when as a society we have the abilty to care for the vulnerable, yet those in power deliberately turn them away.

I am an artist and Iconographer. My latest icon is called Holy Families. It is set on the US/Mexico border. It casts Jesus, Mary and Joseph as people being “sent back,” along with other people who are threatened in the current political climate.
