Substituted applesauce for the oil & most of the butter (kept 1 tbsp) and added a bit of baking powder for lift, espresso powder to heighten the chocolate flavors, and a dash of cinnamon, ('cause I love cinnamon). They turned out rather cake-like instead of gooey, but they aren't too bad. Next time, I may try yogurt to replace the oil and see if they stay moist.
