I would support a change in the law on assisted dying, but I don’t think anyone is trying to ‘impose’ their views. All MPs are entitled to express an opinion and the majority position in Parliament will prevail. That’s parliamentary democracy.

Look forward to seeing what the commission comes up with. Teaching can be a rewarding career but I wonder if any government has the political stomach to fundamentally address recruitment.

Progress on pay, flexibility and non-teaching time will require big investment.
