In Destiny 2 there were a couple guns locked behind high ranks in competitive play and there were people legitimately saying "I paid for this game I deserve these weapons". It's absurd

I don't know what else you would say in an instance where a game's identity is washed away to attempt to appeal to the mass market. All games are made to make a profit of course, but there's a distinct difference from following a specific vision and doing what a committee says will make more money
