Into rugby, cycling and holidays in Europe to various extents, depending on the month. I dunno we'll see how it goes. Working in policy in Wales, or at least attempting to. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏉🚲
Ah yeah that's not helpful... Unsure if it's easy to get a flight to Vannes but a flight to Paris and a train to Brittany from Montparnasse would be easy enough. I like their double decker trains, feels very continental.

It's easy enough for me as I live on a direct train line to Portsmouth but the Portsmouth to St Malo overnight ferry is the best possible way to travel there in my opinion. Get to wake up in St Malo for breakfast.

Today's race was brilliant. Looking forward to tomorrow

It just looks unfair. I don't really understand how you play against this team.

They should really have reduced the size of each team by 1 to compensate imo

I bought Premier Sports because of the rugby channel and the Challenge Cup. The fact they didn't launch the rugby channel or make obvious they wouldn't be showing most challenge games is poor. But as you said, the tournament isn't good anyway. (The food was terrible and there wasn't enough of it).

Makes the autumn campaign even worse in hindsight that the 10, 13 and 15 selections were a waste of time ahead of the six nations. Either build toward something or win, don't do neither?

What would the £350m be for if not just the Treasury bypassing the Barnett formula? My understanding is that most if not all HS2 spending is on reserved matters. (is that why it was classed as an England and Wales project or was that a separate issue?)

I love the place, but very different from the neighbouring Lille city centre. Have you managed to make it to La Piscine museum? It can be quite jarring even if followed by a walk through town to the velodrome.

Rachel Reeves seems to have agreed with you too. Employer NI would be a strange one to give to mayors though, risking a race to the bottom on cutting NI contributions to attract businesses from one authority to the other? Employee NI probably wouldn't carry that same risk.

if anything devolving income tax has likely depressed Welsh Gov income since the powers were handed over as we lose out on the Barnett consequential.

I wonder whether English regions with similar economics and low turnout for devolved elections would see a similar outcome? 2/2

Would you see this as being done through income tax or something else?

Welsh Gov hasn't touched income tax since its devolution as I think it's been too nervous to do so (a population of relatively low earners + a government nervous about its mandate). 1/2

I think as it happened during covid too, there were huge restrictions on the number of fans allowed in, which as the game went on were then promptly ignored

Assuming we don't have a power cut.

I will be there, at some point!

I've booked a holiday to go see Wales away in both France and Italy. Oh dear...
