Monitoring organised harm against trans people
Reposted by Trans Mission
This isn't an isolated incident: as anti-trans rhetoric increases, more cisgender women are being harassed and bullied out of public restrooms as they're accused of being trans
Woman says security guard at Liberty Hotel in Boston confronted her in bathroom, asked to prove gender
A couple said a security guard at the Liberty Hotel in Boston challenged their use of a bathroom and kicked them out.

Not for nothing: all noms are for trans writers, covering trans (and other) issues. We rightly critique trans coverage and the ways trans journalists are denied resources, authority. But worth noting that when we get those things, we produce great work. Let us cook! xtramagazine.com/inside-xtra/...

I’m incredibly excited to join this group of journalists. More on my project, but I’ll be focusing — as I often do — on coverage of trans communities, supporting trans journalists, and the ways that work aligns.
What do these 16 journalists working on some of the biggest issues in media have in common? They’re all part of the 2026 JSK Journalism Fellowship. 👏👏 Please help us welcome them to Stanford! buff.ly/8efUD6V

for a thing I got to dig back this afternoon into my own files on ADF and Stewart and the fake same sex wedding website and I will never tire of this one minor weird episode in a significant bad Supreme Court case
The Mysterious Case of the Fake Gay Marriage Website, the Real Straight Man, and the Supreme Court
In filings in the 303 Creative v. Elenis case is a supposed request for a gay wedding website—but the man named in the request says he never filed it.

9. While Republicans in Arizona have remained unified in their push to pass anti-transgender legislation, Gov. Katie Hobbs has consistently used her veto power to halt those efforts at the finish line.

Republicans lack the votes to override her vetoes, and the legislature has adjourned.

1. The Arizona legislature passed three anti-trans bills... but they did not become law.

That is because Governor Katie Hobbs has just vetoed all of them.

They would have barred birth certificate updates and banned colleges from mentioning gender identity.

1. Stephen Miller took to the presidential podium in the White House Press Room to celebrate Trump's first 100 days.

When he did so, he promoted new pushes to indoctrinate kids on how to be "patriots," including apparently being anti-trans.

It was never about “parental rights” or “the children.” It’s fascism.

9. The immediate effect of the Court’s decision is clear: the ban can be enforced now. And in the coming days, transgender soldiers are likely to begin facing its devastating consequences firsthand.

1. The Supreme Court has allowed a military ban that calls transgender people inherently "dishonorable" to go into effect.

This is a devastating ruling that opens the door for much worse.

I detail what this means for trans servicemembers in my latest.

To people saying “it’s a temporary ruling,” those people are missing the point.

This stay allows the military to IMMEDIATELY begin to let go of soldiers. Those soldiers will need jobs, pay, shelter.

And it clearly indicates where SCOTUS is on trans people.

In an absolutely devastating ruling, the Supreme Court has allowed the transgender military ban to go into effect.

This is shocking - the ban explicitly called transgender people dishonorable for being transgender. It is as clear as day soaked in animus.
